Reflection

*Connect theory and practice so that each informs the other.
*Take action and reflect on that action to improve teaching and learning.
*Develop and articulate a personal philosophy grounded in the HTH design principles.

Linking the Need for Change with our Practice

In the School Reform From the Classroom course at HTH GSE's Teacher Leadership program, we reflected on how our own teaching practice can transform the schools in which we work.  In this artifact, I describe my prior and current teaching experiences and the importance of transforming our schools under the leadership of a visionary director who is an advocate of project-based learning.

Universal Access to All Students

As a final reflection assignment for my BTSA induction program, I opted to write about the various parameters that affect the classroom environment.  Among the topics I discuss in this reflection are: how ELL and Special Ed students experienced a discussion on sexual harassment, changes in the physical environment of my classroom, and the importance of collaborating with my own colleagues for support.

Observation of My Own Classroom

During the Action Research Design and Methods Course we were challenged to step back and observe our very own classroom for at least 15 minutes.  This activity was an eye opener because it allowed me not only to write down observation notes but also make comments and ask myself questions throughout the observation.  This was a great activity in helping me shape my lesson plans.
